Wine Elevated: Devi's Thumb Receives Wine Spectator's Award!

News // Thursday, July 21, 2016

TABERNASH, Colo., (July 20, 2016) — Continuing to make its mark as one of Colorado’s – and now among the world’s -- most notable dining destinations, Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa’s Ranch House Restaurant and Heck’s were both recently presented with a coveted Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence honors. This is the second year both restaurants achieved this level, having held a spot in the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence category since 2010.

Coveted Recognition

Given to just 33 other restaurants in Colorado (of the 1,093 statewide total awards), and less than 1,100 worldwide, the Best of Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants with lists that display vintage depth or excellent breadth across several regions as well as lists that offer a well-chosen selection of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both style and price. Only 88 restaurants worldwide have been awarded at Wine Spectator’s highest tier with a Grand Award.

“Achieving this next tier in wine service is a truly an honor,” said Doug Libby, General Manager for Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa. “Along with the prestigious James Beard Foundation dinner that we host with several of Denver’s premier chefs every November, Devil’s Thumb Ranch is clearly making its mark in the culinary world,” Libby added.

The 2016 awards will be noted in Wine Spectator’s August issue.
